Port Blair, May 19: Under the “Swachh Panchayat Campaign,” today, the head of Pokadera, along with Gram Panchayat members and residents, organized a beach cleanliness drive at Aves Island under the leadership of Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman District. This initiative was a significant part of the campaign’s launch, involving participation from officials of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and other departments. The campaign is aligned with the nationwide “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign, which promotes cleanliness and community involvement across India.
The objective of the Swachh Panchayat Campaign is to make panchayats a focal unit of cleanliness, encouraging competition and active participation from all. At the end of the campaign, the cleanest panchayats will be honored based on assessments.
