Port Blair, May 14: The Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman District is pleased to announce the sanctioning of expenditure for financial assistance in response to the fire accident that occurred on 30th April 2024 at the Billyground Market under Mayabunder Tehsil.
Under the A&N Islands Scheme for providing Financial Assistance to the victims of Accident (who are not covered under the prevailing SDRF/NDRF norms approved by the Govt. of India) prescribed by the A&N Administration vide Gazette Notification No. 143/2015/F.No. 8-1/2015-R&R dated 12th August 2015 and in the exercise of the power conferred vide A&N Administrations Order No. 2050 dated 01st July 2015, the Deputy Commissioner North & Middle Andaman is pleased to accorded sanction to incur expenditure for a sum of Rs 4,80,000/- (Rupees Four Lakh Eighty Thousand only) to 16 victims for the damage of their small business enterprises. This fund will provide immediate relief and support to the individuals and businesses affected by the tragic incident, the ex-gratia amount is credited in beneficiary account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasizes the Administration’s commitment to assisting those in need during times of crisis. Every effort is being made to ensure that the allocated funds are disbursed efficiently and effectively to alleviate the suffering of the affected individuals and families.
