Port Blair, May 08: The District Administration North & Middle Andaman taking swift action to evict fresh encroachments on Government lands, carried out eviction drive in all the 03 Sub Divisions of North & Middle Andaman district. During the eviction drive, temporary structures on various encroached Govt. land viz., Kadamtala village (Petty Shops), near Uttara Bridge(Petty Shops), Rampur village (100 Sq. Mtrs) under Rangat Tehsil, Karmatang -IX (approx. 300 Sq. Mtrs), Tugapur village (approx. 800 Sq. Mtrs) under Mayabunder Tehsil and at Shyamnagar village (10,000 Sq. Mtrs of Areca nut plantation) under Diglipur Tehsil were evicted and restored in Govt. Khata with the assistance of Revenue Inspector, Patwari, Patwari Assistant and other revenue staff. Strict enforcement action against encroachers is being done by the Revenue Authorities. The Deputy Commissioner North & Middle Andaman has cautioned the General Public that District Administration has Zero tolerance towards encroachment on Government land and urged to refrain from such activities. The encroachment eviction drive will continue in the coming days to weed out illegal encroachments.
