Port Blair, Apr 07: on 05th April an excise raid was conducted by the police team of PS Car Nicobar at Perka Village, Car Nicobar. During the operation a Police team consisting of SI J Ramakrishna, ASI Jairaman, PC/730 Hiramani Minj, PC/828 Rahul Kr. Maurya, PC/20 Monika CT/775 Finlayson, PC(D)/2737 Prakash Rao uncovered 200 Ltrs. of Lahan, a key component in the production of illicit liquor clandestinely concealed in plastic barrels. The same was destroyed under photographic coverage.
Police team also confiscated an additional 3 Ltrs. of illicit liquor stored in a plastic jericane from Smti. Lucy, W/o Mr.. Walter, (58)Yrs, R/o Perka Village, Car Nicobar. She was arrested and a case under Excise Regulation was registered at PS Car Nicobar and is being investigated.
The ongoing drive of Police Station Car Nicobar to combat illicit activities will continue unabated, and members of the public are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any unlawful activities to the local police. Confidentiality will be maintained regarding the identities of informants.
