Port Blair, Jan 31: Dr. S Chakraborty, an eminent Social Scientist is presently visiting Andaman and Nicobar Islands for preparing a road map for socio-economic development of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Dr. S Chakraborty, Project Scientist of Silpo-Sathi Industrial Projects Consultancy Limited, has worked with several state governments as consultant for socio-economic development of people. Not only this, he has also visited several countries to study about various techniques which are important for uplifting the social and economic condition of any place. In the field of socio-economic development of backward places, Dr. Chakraborty is known world wide, presently he is working in a dozens of projects nation wide.
“One the first phase I will visit all possible remote villages of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and interact with General public to get a first hand information about the socio-economic condition of these Islands, which will help me to design a proper road map for these Islands, which has a tremendous scope on all sector,” Dr. Chakraborty added.
In second phase, Dr. Chakraborty is planning to invite many experts from Mainland India, who will assist him to finalize the road map.
“I came to these Islands only on the request of the President of Netaji Bhavna Manch, Dr. M K Debnath and the final report will be handed over to him,” Dr. Chakraborty said.
While talking to Andaman Sheekha later Dr. Debnath said that for development of any place a perfect strategy is required.
“We all want socio-economic development of these Islands but where is the road map? Dr. Chakraborty will help us in this and the road map will be used for the overall development of these Islands,” Dr. Debnath said.
