Port Blair, Feb 06: Six Myanamarese poachers have been apprehended by an Anti-Poaching team of Police Marine Force and P.S. Humfrigunj personnel on Monday. On receipt of an information from central intelligence agencies about Sighting of poachers off North Sentinel Island , personnel of Police Marine Force and PS Humfrigunj moved swiftly into sea in PMF boat MV Rifle Man to launch a operation near Hiren Tirkey, Tarmugli Island and North Sentinel Island and succeeded in apprehending 6 Mayanmarsee poachers off south west of North Sentinel Island on 04/02/2013.
They were brought to Wandoor Jetty and handed over to Central Crime Station for further investigation. The Engine Dingy carrying about 300 kg of Sea Cucumber diesel and other items have been seized. The South Andaman District police is continuing Anti-Poaching operations in the west coast.
