Port Blair. Feb 06: In a significant catch, over seven kilograms of illicit Ganja has been seized and three persons arrested by Aberdeen
police under the NDPS Act on Tuesday. On receipt of a credible information regarding two persons on a motorcycle carrying Ganja, ASP Chimoy Biswal formed a raiding team led by Insp. Jagadiswar Rao SHO Aberdeen, ASI M. A. Rasheed, HC Sanjay, PC Rakesh and PC Imran and PC VC Chandra Sekhar who intercepted two suspect persons and recovered over four kg Ganja from their possession. They were identified as Abdul Shammi (24) yrs r/o Atlanta Point and Sahul Hameed (32) yrs r/o Dairy Farm.
On interrogation, they disclosed that they had got the Ganja from V. Kalanidhi (15) r/o Dignabad, upon which the police traced V.Kalanidhi and recovered 2.810 kg of Ganja from him. He was immediately arrested.
