Port Blair, Jan 06: A training programme on tailoring, sewing, cutting, embroidery work and machine repair was organized by UNNATI at South Point on 05.02.2013 at 4.00 PM. Mr. Athirstavel, General Manager, NABARD and was the chief guest in the occassion.
Welcoming the guests Mrs. Kumari, organizer of the function said that the support extended by Mrs. Malhotra, ward councilor including providing space for conducting training in sewing and machine repairing highly acknowledged.
Further, she also expressed gratitude towards the UNNATI for arranging quality training to 30 trainers of A&N Island for getting resource persons from USHA International New Delhi and also to NABARD for sanctioning training programme at South Point for training 30 ladies.
Gracing the occasion, Mr. C. Mohammed, President of UNNATI, complimented the support of community and enthusiasm and interest shown in organizing training programme without any outside support.
“UNNATI believes in quality training which is the fundamental for the success of any venture besides integrated and co-ordinated approach and active participation of the community.” said Mr. Mohammed.
He said that trainees trained by UNNATI in sewing and machine repair with the support of USHA International Ltd. New Delhi. have acquired very good knowledge and skill to impart quality training.
He said for conducting this training he arranged 4 trainees to the organizer instead one for teaching all aspects of sewing and repairing of sewing machines explained in details about various assistance being extended for empowering women through UNNATI. He lauded about the good work and presence of UNNATI for implementation of any development and welfare programmes.
Smti. Shanta Laxman Singh ex-chairperson SWAB said that UNNATI is playing a key role for socio- economic empowerment of women. She appealed everyone that all should associate with UNNATI for their own development and for our territory.
Mr. Vishal Jolly, President BJP also mentioned that we all should work together for development of the Islands.
“In social work we should not bring politics and UNNATI is working involving all for promoting self-employment through various training programmes which is appreciable which all should take advantage and adopt self-employment venture when govt. Job reached to its saturation point.” he added.
