Port Blair, Dec 31: Continuing the policy of strict action against wildlife crime offenders, OP Wimberlgunj staff has apprehended a person with 4.5 kg of Venison at Shoal bay.
On 24/12/2023, SI Rangaswamy, I/c OP Wimberlygunj along with PC/791 S. Srinivasan, PC/2912 T. Siddique and HR(R)/638 B. Nagaveni of OP Wimberlygunj while on patrolling duty at Shoal Bay area, received a credible information from an informer that one person namely Prasanto Sardar was selling Venison (Deer meat) at Shoal Bay -14 village. On the tip, the police team rushed to the spot at Shoal Bay-14 and apprehended the person namely Prasanto Sardar S/o Mr. Protit Sardar (35) yrs Fisherman R/o Shoal Bay-14 and recovered 01 No. red colour bag containing 4.5 Kgs. Venison (Deer meat). Later, the recovered Venison was seized under the cover of a seizure memo. The offender along with seized Venison was handed over to forest officials for further necessary action. The entire operation has been carried out under the command of Abdul Nasir, SHO Bamboo flat.
