Port Blair, Dec. 24: The second day of the prelude to ITF-2023 cultural programme attracted good crowd at Amphitheatre, Anarkali here this evening. People from all walks of life witnessed the scintillating performances by the artistes from EZCC & Local Cultural Organizations who performed dances one after another at their best drawing loud applause from the audience. The prelude to the ITF is being organized by Directorate of IP&T in association with Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration. The five days ITF will be organized by Directorate of IP&T at ITF Ground and in various parts of the Islands from Dec. 27 to 31, 2023.
The cultural programme started with a skillful presentation of ‘Shiv Tandav’ and Bharatnatyam by the artistes of ‘Laksh Public School’ followed by an energetic presentation of dance form ‘Kolattam’, a folk dance of Andhra Pradesh by the artistes of Lord Sree Krishna Temple Committee, Port Blair. The artistes of EZCC from Haryana presented folk dance viz. Faag, Panihari, Loor and Dhamal while the artistes from Odisha presented Sambalpuri dance. The traditional Sambalpuri dance with beating of drums enthralled the gathering who in turn cheered the artistes till the end of their performance.
Thereafter, the artistes of ‘Dance Nritya Academy’ presented a patriotic dance ‘Vande Mataram’. The power-packed performance by the artistes filled the air at Amphitheatre with patriotic fervour. Performers of EZCC & Local Cultural Organizations kept the gathering entertained throughout the evening. The prelude program will also be held tomorrow (Dec. 25) at Amphitheatre from 5 pm to 8 pm. General Public have been invited to witness the programme.
