Port Blair, Oct 31: On the occasion of Birthday anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbahi Patel which officiated as National Unity Day 2023, CRC A&N-Islands in association with Mahatma Gandhi International School, Port Blair conducted “A paddha Pooja Ceremony” for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the premises of CRC A&N.
The National Unity Week will be held from October 25 to October 31, 2023, as part of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign, which aims to honor the courageous freedom warriors who gave their lives in defense of our freedom and to propagate the message of national unity and the spirit of Rashtriya Ekta. The Divyangjan clients and the students from MGIS, Port Blair were unitedly invited to the programme to make the event more inclusive.
Mr. Rajesh Ram, Counsellor, Ward No: 22, Port Blair chaired the programme. Mrs. Padhma Priya, faculty of MGIS was the guest of honour. Mrs. Sumithamol, Resident Nodal Officer, CRC A&N-Islands addressed the gathering and Mrs. Saranyah, Rehabilitation Officer delivered the introductory speech.
All the guests and participants honored Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by showering the flowers followed by pledge taking by Mr. Biswajit Roy, Administrative Officer and a speech about National Unity Day 2023 by Master. Rejoice Singh, student of MGIS. Totally 52 Divyangjan, students from MGIS and parents along were participating.
Finally, Mr. T.Y,Abid, Lecturer Physiotherapy delivered a Vote of thanks and disbursed the gathering.
