Port Blair, Jan 20: The Police Department has issued caution for Private Security Agencies saying that all Private Security Agencies are supposed to run the agencies after obtaining licence from Competent Authority. Anyone, who runs Private Security Agency without licence, he/she is liable to be punished under section 20 of Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act 2005. To obtain a licence to run a Private Security Agency, candidate has to fill Form-I, Form V, which are available free of cost at Police Headquarters, Atlanta Point, Port Blair. The Private Security Agency shall exhibit its licence or copy thereof in a conspicuous place of its business complex.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) has been appointed as the Controlling Authority as envisaged under Private
Security Agencies (Regulation) Act 2005 for A & N Islands vide notification No. 161/2009/F.No. 45-230-Home dated 1/2/2009 issued by the Lt. Governor (Administration), A & N Islands.
All correspondence, application including D.D for issue of licence etc with respect to Private Security Agencies should be addressed to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Headquarters), Police Headquarters, Atianta Point, Port Blair.
