Port Blair, Sep 14: Observance of Poshan Maah, 2023 by ICDS Urban Project on 14/09/2023 at AWC, Bathu Basti 4.
Today on 14/09/2023, Poshan Maah 2023 on the theme “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (PBPB)” was organised at AWC Bathu Basti 4, Port Blair Dr. Nitin Shakya was the Chief Guest and other dignities Dr. Sahana Salam, Medical Officer, Dr. Safique Mohammad, medical officer Homeo, Mrs. Zarina Bibi, Child Dev. Project Officer, Urban Project, Mrs. Archana B Nair Mukhya Sevikas, PHN ANM, Poshan Staffs, a large gathering of mothers and children were present in the program. The Chief Guest Dr. Nitin Shakya stated that Poshan Maah is celebrated to eliminate the Malnutrition from Andaman & Nicobar Islands by introducing innovative measures like Nutritional rich food in diet, nutritional rich traditional millet based food, optimum use of locally available fruits and vegetables.
A Song by Anganwadi Workers, Poem by Anganwadi Childrens, Drawing Competition for Anganwadi Children’s recipe competition and prize distribution were held on the occasion. Indigenous toys, “Poshan Matka” Nutritional recipes based on locally available millets, fruits and vegetables were also exhibited.
Dr. Sahana Salam elaborated on the importance of Nutritional food for the growth of children. Dr. Safique Mohammad also highlighted the importance of an iron rich diet for women.
The Programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs., Archana B Nair, Mukhya Sevika.
Similar programs were also conducted at Anganwadi Centre Old Pahargaon.
