Port Blair, Sept 14: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, has expressed profound sorrow over a tragic incident that unfolded in Sitapur village, Rangat region, on the night of September 13, 2023, at approximately 11:45 PM.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, he informed that during this unfortunate event, a tree fell onto a residence, resulting in the devastating loss of a 17 year old child and causing injuries to other family members. The affected house, owned by Mr. Swapan Mandal, sustained significant damage, further compounded by adverse weather conditions.
In response to this heart-wrenching situation, the Member of Parliament has earnestly requested the Lt. Governor to provide suitable compensation to the grieving family. This assistance is crucial not only to assist them in recovering from the financial hardships caused by the damaged house but also to provide comfort in the face of their tragic loss.
