Port Blair, Aug 10: The Investiture Ceremony of MAHATMA GANDHI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL was held on 10th August 2023 at school premises, Mr. Kalaivanan R. IPS, Superintendent of Police, Port Blair, South Andaman District, was invited as the Chief Guest to grace the occasion.
The Student Council for the session 2023-24 was formed. Students were chosen for the School Posts and House Posts.
The Investiture Ceremony 2023-24 successfully inducted the newly elected and selected members of the school’s prefectural board on 10 August 2023. The ceremony started by lighting the lamp which signifies the removal of darkness and continuous upward movement of the flame denotes a path of wisdom and divinity.
After that a wonderful welcome song was performed by the students of grade 6th. This was followed by a mesmerizing dance performance by Pragati of grade XI. The Investiture ceremony started by the presentation of badges and flags to the newly formed Council – Head Boy, Jayant Ekka from grade XIIth and Head Girl, and Joanna from XIIth were honored by respected Chief Guest Mr. Kalaivanan R, IPS Superintendent of Police South Andaman district. Sport captain, Alan Solomon of grade XIIth received the badge and flag from Mr. Nalin Gulechha the chairman MGIS .Secretary MGIS Mrs. Ranjana Gulechha had presented the badges and flags to the BoysDiscipline incharge Omchrish Chakrawarty XIIth and Girls Discipline incharge Sheba Alice Biju XIIth. Principal Mrs. CH. Swapna had presented the badges and flags to the cultural and incharge M. Monika , D. Shristi and Aryan Ajani respectively .
School House captains received the badges and flags by the respective house Masters as they took on the responsibility of leading the Houses.
Mr. Edwin physical education teacher administered the oath of allegiance to the newly appointed Board of Students’ Council, who swore to serve their Alma Mater with utmost sincerity and to the best of their abilities.
After that the school head boy Jayant Ekkahad delivered his speech and shared his insightful thoughts by his inspiring words. Then, the school head girl Joanna is an exemplary student and has also expressed her views on the auspicious occasion.
At the end of the investiture ceremony the esteemed Chief Guest Mr. Kalaivanan R IPS superintendent of Police of south Andaman district had expressed his thoughts in the gathering, his Insightful words had made the ceremony even more special.
The Principal, Mrs. Swapna motivated the students and blessed them with her golden views which would help the students to make their vision clear for the achievement of their goal by performing their duties with full dedication. She then congratulated the newly elected Students’ Council and emphasized the significance of setting priorities and the need of the hour to be a team player; she urged them to take responsibility with commitment and integrity.
The zeal of the council was reflected in their confidence and dedication to execute their work.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Shilpa GTT, the overall in charge of the event.
To evoke the feeling of patriotism and to remember the nation’s glory and beauty, the investiture ceremony was concluded by the National Anthem.
