Mayabunder, Jan 07: Believe it or not altogether five people fell ill while digging soil at Danapur Village of Mayabunder Island this morning because of ‘suspected’ supernatural powers. According to information received here nearly 40 to 50 people in four groups reached a vacant land of Danapur Village this morning to execute MGNREGA works. The Dana Pur Village falls under Ram Pur Panchayat.
According to pradhan of Ram Pur Panchayat who was present on the spot, as soon as a lady started digging the land, she collapsed and fell on the ground.
“People present there immediately came for her rescue and gave her water and all necessary support. Later the lady was sent to her house. But as soon as four more ladies started digging soil they also became senseless and collapsed on the spot,” he said.
The Pradhan added that to make things further worse, a strange lady appeared from no where and dragged two more ladies towards nearby bushes. Later due to heavy efforts of dozens of men present there, the lady was rescued. “The strange lady appeared again and started dragging another lady, who came for the MGNREGA works. The lady was also saved by public but nobody could catch the strange lady,” the Pradhan said.
People, who were present there immediately, left the place out of fear, suspecting present of some supernatural powers. The matter was immediately reported to the senior officers and police department but nothing could be found on the area by them.
“This is a very strange incident and very hard to digest but it actually happened,” Mr. Raja Rao, Pradhan of Mayabunder Panchayat told Andaman Sheekha.
However, nobody from Police Department was able to comment anything on this issue even after repeated attempt by Andaman Sheekha.
Andaman Sheekha heard much more strange updates on this regard from people, who were present on the spot but the same in not reported as no officials confirmation has been received yet from Police of District Administration of the area. Hope the District Administration will come up with a proper clarification on this issue, as a large section of Mayabuder are deeply shocked and scared because of this news.
