Port Blair, Apr 23: A team of 45 selected students from various Higher Educational Institutions of A & N Islands is scheduled to leave for NIT Jamshedpur Jharkhand for ‘Yuva Sangam’ Phase-II program under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) scheme. The Andaman & Nicobar Islands team being the first team to embark for the event among the States and UTs,is paired with Jharkhand for cultural and heritage exchange under the EBSB scheme. A flag off ceremony has been planned at Island Tourism Festival Ground at 10 am tomorrow (April 24). The senior officials of A&N Administration, all the Heads of the Higher Educational Institutes of A&N Islands will be present at the venue to extend their best wishes to the team.
This being the second phase of the ‘Yuva Sangam’ EBSB programme, DBRAIT, A&N Islands has been selected as the Nodal Institute to co-ordinate the event. Earlier, in the first phase A&N Islands was paired with Lakshadweep. Among the 45 students drawn from different Institutes of Higher Education from Isles, few are first timers to visit Mainland India. A team of 45 students from Jharkhand is expected to visit these Islands in May 2023 under EBSB.
