Port Blair, Feb 7: The Central Board of Secondary Examination in these islands begins from March 1, 2012. Accordingly, the All India Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (class 12th) starts with English paper on March 1 while it ends with Political Science on April 16, 2012. Similarly, the All India Secondary School Certificate Examination (class xth) starts with Maths paper on March 2nd and it ends with Social Science paper on March 26, 2012.
This time 4419 students for class 12th and 4939 (board based) students for class xth are appearing for the CBSE examination for which 42 examination Centres have been planned covering the length and breadth of these islands.
This year, for the first time, the CBSE has identified Banks and Police Stations as the custodians for keeping the exam related materials including the question papers. The CBSE will be directly sending the materials to these custodians for a fool- proof conduct of the CBSE exam. The Centre Superintendents have to directly collect the Examination materials from the custodians at their respective Centres.
Meanwhile all arrangements are being made for the smooth conduct of the CBSE Examination in this island territory. Surprise Inspectors team have been devised to deal and check malpractices/cheating cases, if any, during the examination, the Nodal Officer, CBSE, informed media today.
