Port Blair, Mar 17: The Andaman & Nicobar Rowing Association (ANRA) President Mr. TSG Bhasker chaired a meeting to felicitate the prominent sports personalities of Islands and Nation on Thursday, March 16th, 2023 at TSG Emerald View, Port Blair.
Mr. TSG Bhasker welcomed all the Sports personalities in his opening address, and said, “I am glad to see that we are all united in our Endeavour to work together for the betterment of sports in these Islands. We will work as a team, as friends, as a family. I thank everyone for joining us today. You are the key people who will be taking Indian sports especially Rowing, Canoeing and Kayaking forward in the coming years”.
Mr. TSG Bhasker praised the sportsmen for bringing glory to the nation and the Islands through their stellar performances on their respective fields and told them that they now have an important role to play in boosting the morale of youths.
He also emphasized that a good infrastructure for sports needs to be created in A&N Islands for younger generation so that they get the opportunity to play as per their desire and ability.
Later, Mr. TSG Bhasker felicitated Mr. Shiji Kumar S & Mr. Johny Romal, Silver Medalists in 94th Asian Games for Canoeing and Mr. P.T Paulose, 2004 Olympian in Rowing and 2002 Silver Medalist in Asian Games with a Shawl.
