Panchayawati, Middle Andaman, Dec 26: Two men have been arrested for allegedly molesting a 60 year-old lady at Panchawati area of Middle Andaman.
According to sources both the youths namely Juru Toppo (30 yrs) and Astva Uraon aged 20 (yrs) allegedly molested the 60 years old lady namely Shanti (Name Changed) on Christmas night.
As per the statement given by the victim in Police Station, while she was returning from one of her relatives’ house after celebrating Christmas in the evening at around 6.00 PM, she was molested by these youths.
According to her, both the boys followed her for a long time and when she reached in a lonely place they started abused her physically. When, the lady began to shout, both the youths ran away leaving the lady.
Immediately after that, the victim and her family lodged a complaint against these two accused at PS Billyground. Mr. RN Mishra SHO PS and Dilip Shil S.I Billyground immediately launched a massive hunt for the accused. But even after searching whole night the police team could not trace out both the accused.
Later, early in morning at 6 am they were caught by the police team. It has been learnt that both the accused have been arrested by police under section IPC 354, 506 and 34.
The accused were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate at Mayabunder today, from where they were sent to judicial custody.
