Port Blair, Mar 09: Bambooflat Police Station, in their continuous efforts to combat bootlegging and other illegal activities, made a significant breakthrough by seizing a large quantity of illicit Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) on Holi, Wednesday afternoon. The police conducted a search operation on the house of a 50-year-old man named Ravi, who is a resident of Hopetown.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid on the man’s house and found around 40 bottles of illicit liquor stored with the intention to sell them on the “Dry Day” at a premium price to the locals. The accused was immediately arrested, and a case was registered against him under the Excise Regulation, 1876.
The operation was conducted under the overall supervision of Shri Mr. Kalaivanan R, IPS, Superintendent of Police South Andaman, A&N Islands, and Insp K. Abdul Nasir, SHO PS Bambooflat. The police team worked tirelessly to ensure that the accused was apprehended and the seized items were properly documented.
