Diglipur, Feb 28: The result of the By-Election of Ward Member of Gram Panchayat Diglipur has been declaredtoday.
According to reports, the By-Election of Ward Number 03 under Gram Panchayat Diglipur was held at PS No. 54, Govt. Primary School Subhashgram under good security arrangement yesterday. The voting began at 08.00AM and continued till 04.00PM. Mr. MukundaBaroi and Mr. Subhendu Halder were the RO and the ARO respectively in the election.
Mrs. BinitaMinj, a BJP candidate had an edge over Mrs. Jyoti Nag INC candidate and won the election. Mrs. BinitaMinj got 104 votes while Mrs. Jyoti Nag got 29 votes. Total voters in the by-election were 195 in which male were 92 while female voters were 103 and votes polled were 134. One vote was reportedly found/declared invalid by the polling officials.
The voting remained peaceful with the turnout of 68.7 %, Election Officials said.
