Port Blair, Feb 26: The six days workshop on ‘Sambalpuri Folk & Tribal Dance’ organized by Directorate of Art & Culture, A&N Administration in collaboration with Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC), Ministry of Culture, and Govt. of India culminated with a valedictory programme held at Andaman Club. Sambalpuri Folk & Tribal Dance exponent, Ms. Sonali Das from Odisha was the resource person for the workshop.
The exponent along with the participants attired in beautiful costumes presented a lively Sambalpuri folk dance and a tribal dance, much to the delight of the gathering. A solo dance performance by Ms. Sonali Das drew loud applause from the gathering. She also shared her experience of conducting this six days workshop and stated that it was a memorable experience for her. Shantanu, a participant of the workshop also shared his experience of learning the nuances of Sambalpuri Folk and Tribal Dance which, he said, was a whole new experience for him and other participants. The valedictory programme concluded with certificate distribution to the participants. Earlier, the Assistant Director (Art & Culture), Dr. Rashida Iqbal welcomed the gathering.
