
Port Blair, Feb 24: The National President of Indian Pharmacist Association – IPA, Mr.Abhay Kumar met Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary of Andaman& Nicobar administration at Secretariat, in Port Blair on 24/02/2023.
Mr. Abhay Kumar, requested for early completion of recruitment processfor Pharmacist Grade III under DHS. He has further stated that -, the recruitment notice for 25 post of Pharmacist under theDirectorate of Health Services was called in the year 2018 after a gapof almost 09 yrs. Thereafter a revised notice was published in 2019with 28 posts and after scrutiny the list of 531 candidates eligibleto appear for an exam was published. The candidates were waiting for theexam for the last 03 years. On 17th Nov 2022 notice for the writtenthe exam was published by the DHS. It was a sigh of relief for manystudents who were waiting for the exam procedure to be completed whichwas scheduled for 18/12/22. It was heart-breaking for the candidateswho have already download the Hall ticket to appear for the exam tosee the notice published on 09/12/22 in The Daily Telegram newspaper,that the scheduled exam for recruitment for the post of Pharmacistgrade III was postponed due to administrative reasons.
He added that this will also spell doom for those who are in the verge of beingover-aged due to prolonged delay in the matter and could be the lastchance to appear for any type of government job. Moreover, manycandidates have traveled from many destinations to appear for thisparticular exam and early conduction of the exam will curtail theirlong stay and expenditure at Port Blair.
He further stated that there are as many as 40 unfilledposts of Pharmacist under ANIIMS, which can also fill up by callingfresh recruitment notice.With the firm belief that administration will take positive action inthis regard for the benefit of eligible candidates declared by theadministration in 2019 itself and examination will be conducted at anearliest without any further delay.
He added that timely conduction of examwill also ensure that the time and resources that the A&NAdministration and Directorate of Health Services have spared in thematter doesn’t go in vain and a fruitful result comes out.
As per a press release issued by IPA, Mr. Keshav Chandra immediately spoke to the Secretary (Health) inthis regard and conveyed that as soon as the consent form theDepartment of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance is received from Delhi,the process will be completed.
