
Car Nicobar, Feb 14: Today at around 1230 hrs, a distress call was received from police staff deployed at Malacca jetty, reporting that a person had jumped into the sea. Responding quickly, a police team led by Inspr Rahul, the SHO of PS Car Nicobar, comprising SI JR Krishna, SI D. Panchu, HC Anil, HC Ramayan, and other police personnel, rushed to the spot with life jackets, ropes, and other lifesaving equipment.
On reaching the scene, SI Ramakrishna and HC Anil jumped into the sea to save the person who had jumped in. The police team successfully rescued the individual, identified as Timothy S/o Late Cleman, a 50-year-old private worker from Perka Village, Car Nicobar. They promptly evacuated him to BJR Hospital for treatment, where he was found to have sustained head injuries.
Timothy later revealed that he had jumped into the sea with the intention of committing suicide due to personal issues. However, thanks to the swift response and bravery of the police team, his life was saved.
As per details, SI JR Krishna and HC Anil sustained some injuries during the rescue operation. The rescued individual is now receiving necessary medical attention, and the police team has been commended by public for their quick and effective action.
