Port Blair, Feb 12: Port Blair Municipal Council and GIZ organised a clean-up drive and rally at Junglighat on 11.02.2023 under Cities Combating Plastic Entering Marine Environment (CCPME). The students of Sagritara School, Prem Nagar, along with Municipal Ward Councillor, Ward No. 14, Mr.Joga Rao took part in a cleanup drive and an awareness rally at Junglighat to spread the message of the need to keep our surroundings clean and the students of Sagritara raised slogans like cleanup Port Blair and SwachhataKe Do Rang Hara Gila, SukhaNila. During the rally, the students holding thought-provoking placards went around lending their voice for this social cause. They also interacted with members of the community, commercial owners & fishermen and distributed the Stickers. They explained the importance of keeping the environment clean and encouraging them to join the cleanup effort.During the cleanup drive, students collected the waste separately as wet and dry. The collected waste has been handed over to PBMC.
