Port Blair, 10 Feb: In a tragic turn of events, a road accident in Bambooflat region claimed the life of one person this afternoon. The accident took place at around 02.45 PM on the road near Bambooflat School when a loaded private truck collided with a motorcycle.
According to reports, the victim, Mr. KL Manikandan, a 54-year-old Physical Education Teacher from Mannarghat School Education Department, was driving the motorcycle back home and died on the spot. The police team took his body to the CHC, Bambooflat for further investigation.
As per details, the driver of the truck has been arrested by the police team from Bambooflat Police Station and the truck has been seized. Further investigation is underway, and more details are awaited.
