Port Blair, Feb 05: Under the promotion of sports and fitness of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan,there is a provision for organizing sports competitions at both block anddistrict level. In this connection, a block level Kabaddi sportscompetition was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair in associationwith Panchayat Samiti, Ferrerganj at Lapa Tekri and inaugurated thisevening. The Games will run from February 4th to 12th, 2023 anda separate tournament for girls and boys will be held.
On the occasion, Mr. PA safudeen, Zila Parishad, Member, was the chiefguest and he spoke about need of fit need and this type of program promotesports culture and sportsman spirit among rural youth. While Mr. Y.venkenswar, Gram Panchyat Pradhan, Namunaghar, was guest of honor, Mr.Simson, Up Pramukh, Panchayat Samity,Ferrargunj coordinated the program.Mohd Ali and Mr.Mariyanus , Dr Sunita Patil, Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, socialworkers were present to grace the occasion.
While, Mr. Gopal Ch. Biswas of NehruYuva Kendra made the youth awareabout the program objective, the aim of NYKS is to provide rural youth anopportunity to participate in sports competitions to showcase their talent.He also spoke that NYKS endeavors to promote sporting activities amongrural youth, facilitate the process of grooming sports personalities andidentify rural talents in various fields of rural sports, who can benurtured for excellence by other designated departments.
Earlier, UpPramukh, Panchyat Samiti, welcome the Chief guest and other bypresenting bouquet while Mrs.TamalikaSikari of Dandaspoint youth clubproposed vote of thanks.
