Port Blair, Jan 29: Seven Myanmarese Poachers have been arrested from the Barren Islands on Jan 27th, 2023. According to sources, an Indian Coast Guard Ship spotted a Burmese dingy near the Barren Islands from the sea four days ago. It is believed that the poachers fled into the jungle after grounding the dinghy and were hiding in the forest. The Andaman and Nicobar Police and ANC command were immediately informed about the poachers, leading to a joint search operation by a team of police, IRBN, and army jawans.
Despite the efforts of the poachers to evade capture, the joint search operation, aided by the intelligence of the jawans, successfully apprehended seven Burmese poachers on Jan 24th, 2023. The arrested poachers have been taken to Port Blair and handed over to the CCS Police. The search operation in the Barren Islands continues, as it is believed that there may be more poachers hiding in the jungle. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
