Port Blair, Dec 29: Vidya Yuvakendra Foundation, BathuBasthi, Port Blair organized a program on “Global Warming and awareness campaign” on Plastic Ban, Solid waste Management and Rainwater Harvesting on 28/12/22 at 10.00am in the conference hall of Kendra with the support of NABARD.
Mrs. Kavitha Uday Kumar, Chairperson PBMC was the Chief Guest to grace the occasion along with Mr. Uday Kumar Former Chairperson PBMC. Mr. H. Manoj, General Manager, Nabard and Mr. Dinesh Kumar Joint secretary ACCI, Port Blair are the distinguished guest attended the program and delivered on Informative speech on Global Warming and its adverse impact for the entire mankind Globally due to man made mistakes by burning fossil fuel heavenly utilized in Industrial Sector of manufacturing, Electricity, Generation, Transportation sectors, Infrastructure development, deforestation and technology advancement etc. In front of the gathering of more than 150 trainees of Kendra who are undergoing skill development programmes.
A demonstration programme on solid waste Management was conducted by a team of sanity wing, PBMC headed by Mr. Vijay kumar. The demonstration presented by Mr.Vijaya Kumar was very informative and motivational for the gathering and it was appealed for follow simple method to segregate the waste by the people in their residence by keeping two (2) dust bin colored Blue &Green, which will help the PBMC because the segregation of wastage of entire Municipal ward is great Challenge. People should adopt the policy of “0” wastage by avoiding the usage of plastic carry bags and single used plastic products to keep society eco-friendly.
Miss. Aishwarya & Miss. Rithika trainees of the Beautician course of the Kendra presented their views on Global Warming and its adverse impact of Climate change becoming a destructive cause of the entire world in the form of severe storms, drought, loss of food productivity, health risk & air pollution etc..
Mr. Uday Kumar former chairperson appreciated the efforts of organizing such a type of awareness program on Global warming to sensitize all walks of life to prepare themselves to be safe and secured in a clean and hygienic environment by following Do’s and Don’ts which are repeated by advice through various media.
The main event of the programme arranged by Vidya Yuvakendra Foundation with the support of NABARD was to sensitize the general public of municipal wards and other areas by distributing 2000 cloth bags printed with awareness of Global Warming and notice containing information of various methods to reduce global warming. The team formed among the trainees of Yuvakendra was flagged off by Mrs. Kavitha Uday Kumar, Chairperson for public campaign on Global warming in various places of Port Blair Municipal areas.
