Port Blair, Dec 19: Some students of Saraswathi Shishu Mandir School Port Blair this morning staged a protest against the principal of the school. According to reports at around 07:30 AM some students of 10th, 11th and 12th gathered outside the main gate of the school to stage a protest.
The students were reportedly protesting against ‘unwanted’ intervention of principal in every small issue of the students, leading to building up stress among students.
During the protest some school teachers tried to convince students to end the protest but students refused to end the protest.
Later at around 10.30AM the ward councillor of the area Mr. VetriVelu and some parents took students inside the school and a meeting was arranged inside the school.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted Mr. VetriVelu, the ward councillor, said that the problem happened due to some misunderstanding between the students and principal. “Later with the help of parents we convinced the students,” he said.
Later Andaman Sheekha contacted Indira Devi, the principal of SaraswathiShishu Mandir School, who refuted all allegations made by the students and said that the school is maintaining strict discipline for the betterment of students.
“Some students are coming to school with mobile phones, recently some of the students made Instagram videos inside school and which were posted in social media also, these are the things we opposed,” she added.
She said that the school had a meeting with the parents today during which the parents convinced the students to follow the rules and regulations of the school.
