The Govt. of India has launched TB Mukt Bharat Campaign on theoccasion of World TB Day on 24thMarch, 2021, with the objective ofaccelerating implementation of various programmatic activities and forachieving better community engagement towards achieving India’s targetof TB Elimination by 2025.
I am happy to learn that the Central TB Division, MoHFW hasinitiated a program on “Community Support to TB Patients –NikshayMitra (Donor)” with the objectives to provide additional patient support toimprove treatment outcome of TB patients, augment communityinvolvement in meeting India’s commitment to end TB by 2025 andleverage the avenues for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The Hon’ble President of India has launched the operationalizationof Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on 09thSeptember 2022 togalvanize national support and to create Jan Andolan towards anaccelerated movement to eliminate TB. This Abhiyaan aims to provide community support to TB patients through Ni-kshay 2.0 platform andintroduction of newer and shorter TB Preventive Treatment.
I appeal to all Individuals, NGOs, Institutions and partners tosupport and complement the efforts by Government to end TB byproviding nutritional support to TB patients and contribute ineffectuating a better response against TB. I am confident that withsupport of NikshayMitras, we will be able to achieve the Honble PrimeMinister’s vision of a TB Mukt Bharat by 2025.
