Port Blair Nov 11: Following a gusty wind, a huge mango tree and an arecanut tree fell on a residential house and substantially damaged it today.
As per report, the mango tree and the coconut tree standing on the loose soil fell on the house of one Mr. Sujith Singh, situated close to Coast Guard area, Haddo, in the afternoon at around 13:41 PM today when the family members were inside his house, thankfully all family members narrowly escaped.
On being informed, the Police personnel from Chatham Police Station and Fire Station Chatham and Head Quarter reached the spot within no time and cleared the tree branches from the damaged house.
As per information, no casualty was reported in the incident and more details are awaited.
