Port Blair, Nov 10: One credible information received at Garacharma Range Office on 09.11.2022 at 2100 hours regarding occurrence of a forest offence near Badabalu beach, Chidiyatapu, a team of Forest officials comprising Mr.Subhashis Ray, Range Officer, Garacharma, Mr.Shehbaz Ali, Forester, Mr.R.M.Yadav, Head Forest Guard, Mr. Kumar Swamy, Forest Guard, Mr.B.Srinivas Rao, Forest Guard, Mr. Ravi Shanker, Forest Guard, Mr. Wilson Bilung, Forest Guard and few Mazdoors was constituted for detection of the forest offence. In Spite of darkness, the team carried out intensive search in the indicated area and throughout the night long operation apprehended 07 accused persons namely Mr.S.Mohd. Sareef, S/o. Late E.Sathurdeen, R/o. Buniyadabad, Mr.P.Ramamoorthy, S/o. A.Baskar, R/o. Prem Nagar, Mr.B.HarishHaridas, S/o. G.Haridas, R/o. Delanipur, Mr.S.MariyaDass, S/o. G.Soloman Raj, R/o. Buniyadabad, Mr.V.Karthik, S/o. M.Venkatesan, R/o. Buniyadabad, Mr.Mahmudali Ghazi, S/o. Rahim Gazi, R/o. Calicut, Mr.Achul Ali Molla, S/o. AlauddinMolla, R/o. Calicut and recovered and seized 1.87 cbm. of illegally hand sawn Padauk timber from their possession. A truck bearing Regn. No. AN-01-D-1911 involved in commissioning of the offence was also seized from the spot and brought to Range Office, Garacharma. Further investigation of the case is under process.
The entire operation was led by Mr.A.Soundrapandian, Assistant Conservator of Forests under the table guidance of Mr. A.K.Paul, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, South Andaman.
The Divisional Forest Officer, South Andaman has requested the general public to pass credible information on Forest and Wildlife offences if noticed in their locality in the Phone Nos. 256178, 252334, 255344, 224540, 287336 and 281585. The identity of the informer will not be disclosed.
