Port Blair, Oct. 16: The Directorate of Agriculture is implementing a Central Sector Scheme RKVY-RAFTAAR under which one project namely ‘Creation of Marketing Infrastructure’ is undertaken for post harvest marketing support to farmers. Under the project, back ended subsidy is provided for purchase of Truck of 1.5-2.0 MT capacity for transportation of agricultural produce by the Farmers/ Farm Women/ST Farmers. Registered FPG/SHG/FPO /NGO/CPC or CPS are also eligible to avail the benefit of the scheme. The subsidy under the scheme is 50% limited to Rs 2.50 lakhs per truck.
To avail the benefit of the scheme, eligible Farmers/ Farm Women/ST Farmers, registered FPG/SHG/FPO /NGO/CPC or CPS can contact the Zonal Officer of their area and apply in the prescribed format along with requisite documents.
