Port Blair, Dec 09: Timely action of Andaman Sheekha’s Middle Andaman Correspondent Trinath and North Andaman Correspondent DJ Venkatesh today saved a precious life. According to report an eleven year old boy of class VI, Ajay Kabijaj today sustained serious head injury while playing. The boy, resident of remote Paschim Sagar Village of Diglipur Island, was bleeding badly and his parents were crying for help.
Luckily, one of the relative of Amal Kabiraj, father of the boy, had the mobile number of Andaman Sheekha’s Middle Andaman Correspondent. The relative made a SOS call and asked for help on which the Middle Andaman Correspondent called the North Andaman Correspondent and requested to arrange evacuation of the boy from the remote village. Pachim Sagar Village of North Andaman is about one hour ride from Kishorinagar Village of Diglipur.
Sadly when the North Andaman Correspondent Mr. D J Venkatesh called the Kishori Nagar Hospital it was found that the phone was out of order. Finally he made a call to the Assistant Commissioner of Diglipur, Dr. Vivek Kumar, who immediately directed the Chief Medical Officer of CHC Diglipur to provide necessary help for bringing the patient to Hospital. The CMO acted promptly and sent an Ambulance from Kishori Nagar Hospital.
On reaching Kishorinagar, father of the boy was amazed to see an Ambulance, waiting for them. The boy was immediately shifted to CHC Diglipur and given necessary medical attention. According to last report the boy is out of danger now.
The father of the Child expressed deep gratitude towards both the Andaman Sheekha Correspondents, the Assistant Director of Diglipur, the CMO of CHC Diglipur and his team.
