The 60% to 80% of Oxygen comes from oceans, and an equal amount of Carbon dioxide is absorbed making the air and atmosphere liveable. Oceans are the main source of Rains on earth without which we can’t survive as agriculture and availability of potable fresh water are mainly dependable on Rains. Apart from this, the oceans regulate the global temperature by absorbing the heat reaching the earth in form of sun rays. Millions of fishermen and communities residing in coastal areas are dependent on seas. A large population gets employment in the tourism sector for which marine biodiversity is the main resource. As such oceans/seas are vital for the life support system.
It is a matter of pride that 10 beaches have been identified by GoI for these Islands but apart from the designated Govt.
