Port Blair, Aug 29: On the occasion of ‘National Sports Day’, SAT Team and Sanitary workers of PBMC conducted an awareness programme including a Cleanliness Drive on 29th August 2022 at Heritage Boys Sr. Secondary School, Port Blair. National Sports Day is celebrated in remembrance of Padma Bhusan Major Dhyan Chand also known as “The Wizard of Hockey”.
Mr. Azizur Rehman, Senior Vice Chairperson, PBMC and Councillor Ward No. 06 was the special guest in the programme. The awareness campaign marked the presence of teachers and more than 700 students.
The programme focused on “ZERO” Waste in the City, while Mr. VijayKumar, Sr.S. Insp-2 and Incharge, SAT spoke on the occasion and aware the students regarding different categories of waste and their management at the source level.
