Port Blair, Aug. 29: A Water Treatment Plant (Slow Sand Filter) having a water treating capacity of 2.40 LakhLtrs per day constructed in the Mithakhari village by APWD was inaugurated by Secretary (PWD), A&N Administration,Shri. KishoreKshirsagarLakshman, IAS much to the delight of the villagers and PRI members gathered in good numbers.
Addressing the gathering, the Secretary (PWD) stated that with the inauguration of the Water Treatment Unit, the villagers of Mithakhari and Ograbraj will be immensely benefitted and from now onwards, they will get treated and safe water for their day to day activities.
Earlier, the Secretary (PWD) unveiled the plaque and commissioned the 84 HP pump. The PRI members of FerrargunjTehsil and villagers were present along with Engineers of APWD.
Shri.ThejBahadhur, SE CC-I welcomed the gathering.The salient features of the project was briefed Shri. V. Subbaraj, EE, RCD, APWD. The work was executed at an amount of Rs. 1.38 Cr. The project consists of 2 Nos. of Filtration Unit with capacity of 2.40 Lakhltrs, 1 No. Pump House with 84 HP diesel operated pump along with pipeline.
The gathering was also addressed by Shri. Mohammed Safiq, Pradhan, GP Mithakhari and vote of the thanks was proposed by Smti. RadhaBai, JE Namunaghar RCD, Wimberlygunj.
