
Port Blair, Jul 28: In a first of its kind Camp for Precautionary Dose also known as Booster Kit in A&N Islands was organized by Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi in collaboration with District Administration, South Andaman on 28th July 2022 at Water Sports Complex for the people working in speed boats and other water sports activities. 217 people were benefitted from the camp.
As India is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and as directed by Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi, the precautionary dose is distributed free of cost to all who have administered the second dose and completed 06 months.
Mr. Mandeep Grewal thanked Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, DeputyCommissioner, South Andaman and the entire District Administration, South Andaman for the help provided to set up the camp.
“It is of great help as all these people come in directcontact with the tourists coming for water sports activities andproviding them the booster dose makes it all the safer foreveryone”, Mr. Grewal added.
District Child Protection Unit (SA) organizes an awareness programme on “Promotion of Legal Adoptions” at GP Sippighat
Port Blair, Jul 28: District Child Protection Unit, South Andaman organized an awareness program on “Promotion of Legal Adoption” on 28th July 2022 at Gram Panchayat, Sippighat. The program was attended by various Self-Help Groups and community members of the Sippighat area.
The gathering was sensitized about the functions of the District Child Protection Unit with emphasis on the Non-Institutional Care programme under “MISSION VATSALYA”. The main purpose of the awareness program was to create awareness of Adoption as per “Adoption Regulation 2017” and stop direct adoption.
The team also emphasized that all Adoptions whether Prospective Adoptive Parents / Relative Adoption / Step Parent Adoption should compulsorily be registered in CARINGS.
Detailed information was provided to the gathering about the procedures and Do’s and Don’ts of Adoption. The team also informed about the process of surrendering children who can be restored through adoption. The awareness session concluded with open discussions wherein the participants were informed to report any cases pertaining to vulnerable children at District Child Protection Unit, South Andaman.
