Diglipur, July 25: The 1st Monsoon Beach Festival was celebrated by the Department of Environment & Forest through Diglipur Forest Division at Ramnagar Beach in Diglipur Tehsil. The Monsoon Beach Festival first of its kind was highly appreciated by all the visitors and remained talk of the town in the last week.
As per report, the 1st day of the beach festival commenced with ceremonial Plantation and formal inauguration by Mr. Kuldeep Sharma IFS, the DFO Diglipur, Pradhan, GP Ramnagar Mr. Mithun Das and Pradhan, GP Kalighat Mr. AsitMondal on 23rd July.
The festival attained true festivity spirit with full support of local of the whole Diglipur Tehsil. The Forest Dept. had installed various food stalls and fun games stalls for the public. Apart from the stalls, Health Dept. set up a health camp where the general health check-up, COVID booster dose administration and medical counseling were provided to the visitors. Around 90 COVID booster doses were also administered apart from general health check up by the Health Team. Yoga demonstrations and awareness and precautionary measures against Andaman Fever were also parts of the program of the Health Dept.
The festival also provided a platform for the village talent and local youths in the field of dance, drama and singing. Various cultural performances by the local artists, students and elders of Ramnagar, Kalighat, Sitanagar, Laxmipur and other regions of the Tehsil became parts of this festival.
Day 2 of Monsoon Beach Festival was a day of Sports Extravaganza at Ramnagar. Almost 1300 visitors attended the festival for the whole day. Double digit teams in all 3 Team events namely- Volleyball, Kabaddi, Tug of War and more than 80 participants in 100 meter sprint. Teams reached Ramnagar from far off places such as Paschimsagar, Talbagan and Shibpur.teams of Defense Forces such as Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and also civil administration like Police and Forest joined the sports events.
Whole day the events kept on happening and the general public went on enthralling with rush of adrenalin while seeing the nail biting moments in all events especially Kabaddi and tug of war.
Visitors also enjoyed Dance, Music, Swimming, Rains and above all the festival vibes which was long missing from Diglipur region.
Among other officers of the Administration, the Assistant Commissioner Diglipur Mr. Anuj Kr. Bharti , DANICS and Mr. Manasvi Vishist, DANIPS, DySPDiglipur also attended the festival.
The 1st Monsoon Beach Festival was a great success and people appreciated the efforts of the Forest Department in conducting such a grand outdoor event without any inconvenience for the enjoyment of general public of Diglipur Tehsil, the report further said.
