Port Blair, July 18: Mr. R Alegar Swami, ZillaParishad Member, Baratang met the Assistant Commissioner of Rangat, Dr. Nitin Shakya, today, who was on a visit to Baratang.
Mr. Alegar Swami raised some crucial issues infront of the AC Rangat like not posting of a Principal in GSSS Oralkatcha and lack of various subject teachers in Baratang Schools.
Further, the ZillaParishad Member demanded to fill the vacant posts available in the Electricity unit of Baratang. He said that two posts of Lineman, DRM posts and a Meter reader post are lying vacant in Baratang Electricity Department, which is hampering works of the unit.
He also demanded compensation for the damaged properties in the recent tree fall incident at Nilambur Jetty.
The Assistant Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all the matters and assured to take up the matter with the A&N Administration especially the matter of compensation which will be dealt with utmost priority.
