Port Blair, Apr 17: Two Brand new Petroleum Retail Outlets in Kadamtala and Baratang will soon be ready to facilitate passengers commuting through ATR.
As per details, the A&N Administration is setting up Petroleum Retail Outlets and for this Andaman Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Ltd. (ANIIDCO) has taken up the initiative to construct two Petrol Pumps one each at Kanchangadh in Baratang and Uttara in Kadamtala.
The Administration had earlier allotted land to ANIIDCO for setting up the Petrol Pumps in these two places and the construction work for both the projects has been completed by Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) which has been entrusted with these projects, it is learnt.
According to the information received, the work for the Petrol Pump at Uttara has been completed and the trial run has been initiated by ANIIDCO in association with Indian Oil Corporation. This Retail Outlet at Uttara will have a storage capacity of 40KL (20 Kl for Petrol and 20kl for Diesel) having 2 Dispensing Units with 4 nozzles.
Similarly, the Petrol Pump at Kanchangadh, Baratang has also been completed and the APWD will hand over it to ANIIDCO soon after which the trial run of this Petrol Pump will also start. This Petroleum Retail Outlet will also have a storage capacity of 40 Kilolitre for Petrol and 40 kilolitres for Diesel having 3 Dispensing Units with 6 nozzles.
Reportedly the sanctioned project cost for construction of Petrol Pump at Baratang is Rs. 2.89 crores while the project cost at Kadamtala is Rs. 2.44 crores. Presently, the Andaman Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Ltd. (ANIIDCO) is maintaining 11 Petroleum Retail Outlet/ Depots covering the length and breadth of A&N Islands.
The addition of these two new Petroleum Retail Outlets at Baratang and Kadamtala, will fulfill the aspirations of the people residing there and the commuters passing through NH-4.
