Port Blair, Apr 13: In a joint the operation led by Station House Officers of Katchal, Nancowry, and Car Nicobar under the command of the Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District altogether 43 warrantees have been executed in a single day at Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on 5th April 2022.
As per information received, many cases were pending in the Nicobar District for many days as for Nicobar District there is a lone CJM Court that operates only eight days a month and due to the unavailability of ships, the police were unable to produce inter-islands warranties into the court. For which a special operation was organized and a ship namely MV Kamorta was arranged which carried all the warranties to Car Nicobar islands. The operation was organized with help of the Nicobar Administration, Shipping Service, and Nicobar Police.
As per details, altogether 43 warranties which included 3 cases of MV Act, 3 Police Act cases, a whooping 37 cases of excise regulation were convicted, and a Rs. 83150 fine was collected. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Adhikari the newly posted CJM, Car Nicobar has executed all of these cases in a single day which never happened before in the history of the court of CJM so far.
It is learnt that this operation has cleared all pending warrants of Nicobar District which is a remarkable feat by the CJM, Car Nicobar.
