Port Blair, Apr 13: In order to meet the expectations of the high-speed Internet customers on A&N Islands, BSNL A&N has doubled the CANI bandwidth backhaul hired between Port Blair to Chennai and also augmented the CANI bandwidth backhaul between Islands to Port Blair (wherever technically required), this augmentation was done on 7th April 2022.
This will enhance the user experience of high-speed internet customers of BSNL in the Islands. In line with this CANI bandwidth backhaul augmentation, the following benefits are extended to the existing and new FTTH / Air Fiber customers.
The speed and volume of free data usage under the Fair usage policy of FTTH/Air Fiber plan with FMC Rs 999 and above has been increased. The popular FTTH / Air Fiber Plan of FMC Rs 999 will now offer 250GB/ month at up to 50 Mbps speed and that of FMC Rs 1499 will now offer 650GB/ month at up to 100 Mbps speed. With the increase in free data usage and speed, BSNL A&N has offered a Free OTT platform ie Disney+ HotStar to all existing and new Customers having FTTH/Air Fiber plans with FMC greater than Rs. 1499.
Migration of existing copper broadband to FTTH is now feasible, without a change of number, i.e interested customers can now convert their existing copper Broadband to FTTH without changing their existing landline number. However, customers need to change their DSL Modems to FTTH modems at their own cost and opt for FTTH plans as per their requirements.
In addition to the above BSNL A&N offers a 10% discount on monthly bills of FTTH/Air Fiber and copper broadband connections working in the name of any Government Servant (A&N UT, Central, PSU, Banks, etc: working or retired government servants). This is applicable to existing and new customers.
To bridge the digital divide in these Islands, BSNL invites interested TIPs/ LCOs / CSCs to enroll as our partner for further extending FTTH/Air Fiber services to uncovered and rural areas of the Islands.
