Port Blair, Apr 05: Major power supply disruption occurred at Anarkali Basti at Betapur, Middle Andaman region due to strong wind and rain this morning.
Due to heavy rain tree branches fell on the live electricity line which damaged the electric poles and resulted in disruption of the power supply in the area. Workers of the Electricity Department worked very hard to restore the damage to electric poles and fallen lines.
The tree branches fell on 433/11/33KV line and damaged a RCC electric pole, following which replacement work was carried out promptly by the electricity department in the area.
