Port Blair, Apr 05: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to set up one Gym in every ward of Port Blair Municipal Council and every Gram Panchayats of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, so that youths remain actively focus in health and constructive activities.
He also requested the Member of Parliament to order inspection of currently operational Gyms in many wards and Panchayats and provide those Gyms with the latest fitness equipment.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament mentioned that in recent years many Gyms have been established in several wards of PBMC and Gram Panchayat across Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which are extremely popular among youths of concerned areas. Such facilities not only help youths to focus on their health but also help in saving youths from several harmful distractions, he added.
However, he noted that there are still many areas where there is no such facility.
Considering the growing demands of Gyms among youths of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Member of Parliament requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to set up one Gym in every ward of Port Blair Municipal Council and every Gram Panchayats of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, so that youths remain actively focus in health and constructive activities.
