Port Blair, Mar 23: Ration Rasheed Foundation expressed gratitude to the A&N Administration and Andaman Police for its proactive steps/measures taken during recent cyclone warning.
The Administration swung into early action and thereby took various pre-emptive measures like canceling all sanctioned leave of Officers/staff, deployed Five teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) from Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu was deployed to carry out search and rescue operations at various locations relayed weather warnings to all mariners and fishermen at sea with the help of the Indian Coast Guard.
“The impact of the cyclone was very moderate in the Islands although the Administration had geared up with sufficient stocks of emergency supplies and taken steps to protect the population and restoration of infrastructure,” Mr. Rasheed said.
