Port Blair, Mar 15: The Govt. of India will be launching the Nationwide COVID-19 vaccination for the age group of 12-13 years and 13-14 years i.e. born in 2008, 2009 and 2010 (attained above 12 years of age) from March 16 onwards. The beneficiaries will be administered Corbevax COVID-19 vaccine.
In line with this, the A&N Islands too will be launching the vaccination drive for the specified age groups and all parents have been requested to get their child vaccinated. The vaccination will kick start at JNRM Vaccination Centre tomorrow (Mar.16) from 9 am to 5 pm and parents have been requested to bring their children to the Vaccination Center for vaccination to ensure protection against the deadly COVID-19 virus. The vaccination will be administered at designated vaccinated centres from March 17.
The beneficiaries in the age group have been requested to bring documents i.e. ADHAAR Card/ School ID Card or any other document for verification of age. The Health Department has sought the support of all to achieve the target of 100% vaccination for the age group and move one more step ahead to free theseIslands from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, a condition of co-morbidity for 60 plus population has been removed and all above 60 years are now eligible for precaution dose of COVID vaccine from tomorrow (Mar.16).
