Port Blair, Feb 23: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands region, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India will organize State Level Youth Parliament Festival from 24th to 27th February 2022.
The Youth Parliament Festival (NYPF) is based on the idea given by the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi in his ‘Maan ki Baat’ Address. The festival was organized across the country with the theme ‘Be the Voice of New India and Find solutions and Contribute to Policy’.
In order to continue with the same spirit and objective, the 3rd National Youth Parliament Festival 2021-2022 has commenced from 14th February 2022 through virtual mode across the country.
The objective is to hear voices of youth under the age group of 15 to 29 years through deliberations at the District, State & National level on the subjects and issues of National importance.
It is to encourage youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man’s point of view, form their opinions and articulately express them. To develop and enhance decision-making abilities, respect and tolerance for the views of others, obtain and document their opinions on the vision of New India and make available their views to policymakers and implementers to take forward.
Two winners from the district of West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands will participate in this State Level Youth Parliament (SYP).
The inaugural function of SYP will be held on 24th February 2022 at 11 AM at State Office, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Kolkata.
After the inaugural function, participants will join virtually. The winners of the State Level Youth Parliament Festival will participate in the National Level in Delhi.
A total of 87 winners from all States and UTs will participate in National Youth Parliament Festival. Out of them, 29 first position holders will speak on the given topics whereas, the remaining 58 will attend the proceedings.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Position Holders at National Level will get Prize Money of 2 lakh, 1.5 lakh and 1 lakh respectively. Besides, there are provisions for 02 consolation prizes of Rs. 50,000 each.
